The more I read about makeup trends for Autumn/Winter, the more I’m seeing dark lips everywhere. Now, a dark lip has been popular for the past few Autumn/Winter seasons so there’s nothing new there. However, this year they have gone even darker. Designers such as Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen went for strong, deep berry shades, with Cranberry and Cherry being two very popular shades of choice on the runway all round.
I love a dark lip. Whether it be a strong orange or fuchsia for Summer, or a berry or burgundy for Autumn, I love playing around with shades and looks. It’s not unusual for me to buy a few new lippys when a new season rolls around and that’s exactly what I did a few weeks ago.
If you read my Daytime Autumn Lipstick post a few weeks ago, you’ll know I was recently in Charlotte Tilbury testing out some new shades. And while I was there, I picked up the lippy for today’s post, Night Crimson. Now, while this is not a ‘new’ lipstick to Charlotte Tilbury, it is new to me, and very much an on-trend colour for this season. It’s a bit different to other shades I have, and therefore I’ve been loving wearing it over the past few days.
Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are always a good purchase in my view, they are super hydrating and moisturising, they have very good pigment, and they wear well on the lips too. Night Crimson is from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range which apparently contains anti-oxidants and special waxes to plump up the lips and leave them feeling super soft. Now, while I’m not sure about the plumping part, this lipstick definitely leaves my lips soft, and I love the glossy look it gives them too.
I would describe this shade as a dark cherry, and therefore it is the perfect shade to get me through the Autumn months. It looks equally good with a soft nude eye, or a charcoal smoke, and therefore is very versatile in how it can be worn.
I’ll just never get tired of trying new lipsticks, and I hope you won’t get tired of me talking about them either!
