Naked Ultimate Basics Palette | Urban Decay

I don’t usually write about events I go to, but I’m so excited about this product launch that I just can’t wait to talk about it. In fact, I don’t think I’ve been this excited about a product launch since MAC’s Marilyn Monroe collection, or maybe NARS’s Andy Warhol limited edition collection, eeek I don’t know. Let’s just say, I’m frickin’ excited!

When writing reviews or sharing product thoughts with you all, I always use, wear them and test them them for several weeks or months before writing about them so that I can give you all an honest, thorough review. But, this is different. I haven’t even done a full review yet and already I’m writing about it. Let me explain…

I’m very lucky that since starting my blog, I’ve been invited to some amazing events with brands I love, and occasionally receive press samples of new products. It’s something I’m very grateful for and while I’m not currently working full time, it’s an exciting part of the blogging world that I love being able to take part in. It gives me a chance to meet with fellow like-minded bloggers, some who I’ve known for a few years, and others who I’m just meeting for the first time. It’s the perfect excuse for us to chat all things blogging, beauty and lifestyle.

The reason why I’m writing this post is because Urban Decay is one of my all-time favourite brands ever, like ever! I love their ethos, I love their branding, but most of all I love their products. You’ll already know this about me if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, and unless you’ve been living under a beauty rock, you will know that last Thursday, Urban Decay launched their new Naked palette, Naked Ultimate Basics, in Ireland.

Naked Ultimate Basics is an all-matte, warm toned, twelve shade palette and in my opinion, is their best palette ever and the best thing to happen to palettes in ages. The shades are to die for, the pigments are intense and the packaging is divine. I’ve only used it for the first time this morning and let me tell you, it’s L.O.V.E, love!

At the event yesterday, the lovely Danielle Roberts, Urban Decay’s makeup artist extroadinaire, created this insanely gorgeous look using three shades from the palette, Faith, Extra Bitter and Lethal. Extra Bitter is a nod to the original Bitter shade from their Vice 4 palette, while Lethal is very similar to my favourite shade from their Gwen Stefani palette, Punk. I’ve a feeling these will become my new obsession.

I promise to share a proper review post in the coming days with some different looks from the palette as I always do, but for now, I will just leave you with the beauty that is quite possibly, my new favourite palette ever in life!

The palette costs €47 and is available from both Debenhams and House of Fraser.

Sorcha x

      1. The Tarte palettes are quite lovely in color and beautifully pigmented yet they seem to lack the softness and smoothness in Urban Decay eye shadow palettes. (You know exactly what I’m talking about! LOL!) I think Urban Decay is just king when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. Although I will say I LOVE Tarte blushes. I just got the Tarte Color Wheel Blush Palette and it’s absolutely amazing. And 10 blushes for $44 is a fabulous value!
