Simply Lippy Challenge Day 6 | MAC Marilyn Monroe in Love Goddess

Happy Friday everyone! We did it, we survived the first week of January. Although, I must admit, it wasn’t too bad for me given that I’m not starting my new job for another two weeks yet.

Anyway, today is Day 6 of my Simply Lippy challenge and it’s a really miserable, dull day in Dublin so for today’s choice I decided to go with a bold, bright shade.

The shade I’ve chosen is Love Goddess from the MAC Marilyn Monroe collection and this is one of my favourite lipsticks that I own. So much so, after falling in love with this colour when it was first released, and because it was a limited edition collection, I went back and bought two more. Sadly however, this is my last one so I’m using it sparingly. Of course I had to take it out for the purposes of the Simply Lippy challenge though!

Love Goddess is a soft, satin finish lipstick with an opaque colour which really pops when you wear it, especially with a simple eye. Like most MAC lippies, it also has incredible staying power which means you don’t have to apply too much or too often.

Although the lipstick looks quite dark when you open it, it’s actually much lighter on application (as you can see in the photo above). At the time it was released it was described as a red-pink, but to me it’s more of a bright raspberry colour. And a delicious one at that!

It almost saddens me that I won’t get to wear this again in the challenge but there’s many more colours and shades to be discovered and that full on fills me with joy!

Don’t forget to search for my #simplylippy and #365days365shades hashtags on social media to follow my journey and let me know what you think.
