Well, my first day in my new job is over and I survived! Well, kinda. I was so nervous going in this morning but after a few hours I started to settle and met some of my lovely new colleagues, so all was going well until after a meeting with my Director, when I spectacularly slipped and nearly face planted full force into the floor. WTF! WHY GOD, WHY?!
I was walking back to my desk, eagerly chatting away when next thing I know my leg went out from under me and he was holding my arm trying to prevent me from falling flat on my face. Like, can you imagine?! I have never been so mortified and couldn’t get back to my desk quick enough as visions of wobbling around, looking like a drunken ice skater kept running through my mind. Ground, open up and swallow me. NOW!
Needless to say, I’m not the better of it, but I hope it gives you all a good laugh on this Monday evening. I keep going between laughter and the verge tears since I got home so I won’t blame you if you’re crying some tears of laughter too!
Now back to the matter in hand: my lipstick choice for today. As I mentioned the other day, my lippy choices for this week are going to be a little more understated than what I’ve been wearing up to now, mainly because I want to get settled before I go in rocking a strong lip. God knows, my Director probably thinks I’m crazy enough already now after today’s events so I may have to regain some of my street-cred before playing around with lipstick shades.
Anyway, in the interest of playing it safe for my first day, the lippy I opted for was a soft pink lip gloss from Catrice, and one which I have to say, has really impressed me. The Volumizing Lip Booster lip gloss is one of the nicer lip glosses I’ve tried recently and I love the high glossy shine it gives. This shade, 010, is a natural pink shade so you only get a very slight colour on application, but nothing less than you’d expect from a neutral gloss.
The best thing about this however, is the plumping effect it gives your lips. The formula contains menthol so the second you apply, your lips begin to tingle and you can almost feel the plumping take place! It definitely made my lips feel fuller and its soft finish meant there was zero stickiness which made it so easy to wear.
I only discovered Catrice products early last year, but if you caught some of my previous posts, you’ll know that I’ve become a big fan of their Glam & Doll False Lash mascara, and their Don’t Worry Be Berry lipstick was one of my favourite shades to wear last year.
It was the perfect shade to get me through my first day of work, and if I had to fall and make a fool out of myself, then at least I did it with nice lippy on!
Don’t forget, I’m sharing all my challenge photos and progress over on my social media pages so come follow me over there. You’ll find me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Oh, and if you feel like joining me for a cuppa and a chat then I’m over on snapchat too. Just search for @imsimplysorcha.
