Simply Lippy Challenge Day 24 | NYX Extra Creamy Lipstick in Cocoa Cacao

First things first, I’m very happy to announce that I had no embarrassing falls today in work, hurray. Let’s all have a big joint round of applause for my ability to walk properly today! If you missed yesterday’s post I’m sure none of this is making sense but don’t worry, you can catch up here.

For today’s Simply Lippy lipstick choice, I figured I could go a bit bolder with my shade (seen as I’ve already made a total fool of myself) so I opted for a gorgeous dark brown shade from NYX. The shade, Cocoa Cacao, is a deep caramel brown and is from their Extra Creamy range.

I’ve never used this range before so I was glad to find that the formula was most definitely creamy and the pigment is pretty great too. The downfall with this lipstick however, is its staying power: it lost its hold pretty quickly and I did have to reapply it a lot throughout the day. In fact, this is probably my most reapplied lipstick of the challenge so far.

In saying that, the creamy base makes it non-drying and I do really like the shade so overall I’m not too disappointed. I’m a huge fan of the NYX matte liquid liner so I was hoping for more from this lipstick, but I’ve heard good things about their matte lippies so I’ll have to put one of those to the test soon.

If you’re enjoying my challenge so far, I’d really love for you to please come follow me over on social media too. I post pretty pictures on Instagram, chat all things beauty releases and favourites on Twitter, and share weekly lipstick videos on Facebook. And I’ve got my very own challenge hashtags as well – #simplylippy and #365days365shades, so you can follow my journey by searching for those as well.

Sorcha 💋
