Throughout my Simply Lippy challenge so far, I’ve discovered lots of new lipstick shades and formulas that I hadn’t tried before, and it’s safe to say, many of them have been really gorgeous and become new favourites.
However, very few of them have made the same impression on me as today’s lipstick has.
Rose Wood, from Make Up For Ever’s Artist Rouge Creme range, is possibly one of the nicest lipsticks I’ve worn in a long time in both colour and formula.
The shade is not one I would have usually chosen but after wearing it, I’m just totally obsessed. It is what I would describe as a purple mauve, with a slightly grey undertone and I honestly fell in love with it the minute I put it on.
As well as that, the formula is brilliantly opaque and so creamy – it has the most luxurious rich creamy finish that I really wasn’t expecting, and application is so soft and smooth too. It has a thick consistency whilst feeling light, and the colour really holds up as you wear.
I feel like I can’t even put into words how much I like this, and I’m so excited to have discovered such a gorgeous new lippy collection thanks to the lovely ladies over in Make Up For Ever who sent this to me to try out.
For me, it really holds its own against some of my favourite luxury brands, including my holy grail YSL Rouge Pur Couture, but is almost €10 cheaper which is a major bonus. But really, price doesn’t matter here, because I would happily pay the €24 price tag to purchase this in other shades. It is worth every single penny in my view.
I am loving everything about this, and I mean really loving it. So much so, I think it is my favourite new discovery of the challenge so far and I can’t wait to try some more shades in the range very soon.
Has anyone else tried this Make Up For Ever range? How am I only discovering it now, I feel like I’ve so much to catch up on with this collection!
If you have tried it, then make sure you comment below and let me know what shade I should try next!
