Today’s lipstick choice was something a little different as it was from this quartet lip and cheek cream palette from So Susan.
While I love and can’t get enough of face and eyeshadow palettes, I’m really not a big fan of lipstick palettes and never have been. For me, I just prefer applying lippy straight from a stick or tube, and don’t really get the same satisfaction from using palettes.
However, in the interests of being open minded and trying lots of different lippies for my challenge, I decided to give this palette a go today as it’s been sitting in my drawer for months now.
I chose two shades; the red and softer beige nude from the bottom of the palette, and layered them on my lips using a lip brush to create a kind of burnt orange colour to match my neckpiece.
After layering the two shades, I really liked the final colour that I got, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the pigment was good too. Sometimes with lip palettes, I find the pigment doesn’t transfer on to the lips, but this pigment was true to the palette shades once applied.
The formula and consistency was okay, not good or bad really, and just left me feeling a bit ‘meh’. To be fair, you can’t properly judge consistency when applying from a palette though.
Lasting power was probably the most positive thing about this lippy as, although it didn’t last for a particularly long period of time, it did stay put for much longer than I thought it would.
All in all, it was fine, but I don’t think it has changed my mind about lipstick palettes.
