Simply Lippy Challenge Day 153 | Max Factor Lipfinity Lipstick in Shade 60, Evermore Lush

So far throughout the challenge I’ve tried out two lippies from Max Factor. The first was one of their colour elixir lip glosses on Day 101 which I didn’t rate at all, and the second on Day 120, was a lipfinity long last matte lip colour which I really liked.

Because of my very different opinions on both, when I was in Boots the other day, I decided to pick up another Max Factor lippy to see whether it would help me make up my mind about their lipstick offerings.

After swatching a few, I eventually decided on this lovely rose shade from their Lipfinity lipstick range which I wore for Day 153 today, and have to say, wasn’t blown away by.

Firstly, I do have to say that I love the colour and the pigment is pretty spot on too meaning you get great colour pay off from one layer. But while all of those things are major positives in a lipstick, I felt it kind of just sat on my lips as opposed to making them feel moisturised which is what I was expecting.

The finish is soft and it does glide on easily, but on the Max Factor description of this lipstick it says that it is ‘infused with lip conditioners and nourishing oils’, but I just didn’t really get any hint of that while wearing it.

Now it dies have to be said that I have had an awful cold/flu for the past few days so my lips are on the drier side, but because of that I thought this lipstick would be a great choice to keep my lips hydrated throughout the day. Sadly, it didn’t work and my lips nearly felt drier after than before.

I feel I’m being a little harsh here especially as I did really like the colour, so in the interests of fairness, I’m going to put most of the drying effect down to my cold and not the lippy.

But, having said that, I don’t think I’ll be rushing out to try many more of these in the future.

Sorcha 💋
