Simply Lippy Challenge Day 164 | Sleek Power Plump Lip Colour in Shade 1045, Raving Rouge

You may remember a few months back, I tried out one of these plump lip colours from Sleek in a lovely berry shade Berry Burst, and really liked it for many reasons. Because of that, I decided to buy a few more shades in the range and today, I’ve opted for a bright red.

My first impressions of this when I tried it out was the incredibly strong tingling feeling that it gives your lips after application. I remembered it being strong, but not quite as strong as I found it today, and I was almost at the point of wiping it off for fear it was going to give my lips a reaction.

Thankfully, after a few minutes it soothed and the lovely soft cream-matte finish began to remind me of why I liked it so much initially.

The texture is smooth and has a lovely creamy feel when you apply, keeping your lips soft throughout the day. My favourite thing about it though, has to be the gorgeous pigment which is one of the best I’ve tried when it comes to lip crayons.

The colour pay off after one light layer is brilliant, and the staying power is also very good meaning you get a fab dramatic pop of colour all day long. I did have to reapply, but not as often as I thought, which is another reason why I like it.

I do wonder however, about the strength of the tingle effect. I love a tingly lip product usually; there is just something very satisfying about knowing it’s working while you wear it. But this one isn’t for the faint hearted, especially if you have very dry or sensitive lips, in which case I would totally avoid.

But if you’re partial to an ‘aul tingle and like a lip crayon, then this is definitely a good choice for both pigment and price!
