Simply Lippy Challenge Day 172 | Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Shade, Heartbreaker

I have become such a big fan of Sleek Makeup of late; I love their formulas and pigments on so many of their products, not least of all their lipsticks, and today’s shade is the perfect example of that.

The True Colour lipstick range comes in several finishes, but today’s matte finish just might be my favourite. I hadn’t tried the matte lipsticks until today, but the creaminess of the formula just really made me love it.

Some mattes can be very dry and therefore hard to apply, but because of the creamy consistency in this one, application was easy and it blended very well also.

The pigment is just gorgeous, and I love the bright pink shade. You will all know by now how I have a love/hate relationship with pink depending on the tone and shade, but this one is definitely a winner for me and slightly reminded me of one of my favourite MAC shades, Relentlessly Red.

When I first bought it, I thought it would be more red than pink, but when you apply it, the pink really comes through.

Just one light layer will give a good colour payoff, but a few layers will really make the colour pop even more so I layered it up this morning in the hope that it would stay on, and let me tell you, it really did!

At lunch time today I got a lovely compliment on the lipstick, that was after breakfast and several cups of tea, and about five hours after I originally applied it. I’d expected it to be gone off my lips but when I checked in the mirror, it was still on, looking quite close to perfect.

Because of that, this lippy gets top marks from me today and I can’t wait to try some more of the matte shades in the range.

Sorcha 💋
