Simply Lippy Challenge Day 182 | Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Matte Revolution Lipstick in Shade, Tell Laura

There is just something about a red lip; it transforms your makeup look and your outfit, it lifts your mood, it makes a statement. And for me, that is never truer than when I find a perfect warm toned red with a hint of orange, and fall totally in love.

And that’s exactly what happened when I tried out today’s shade, Tell Laura, from Charlotte Tilbury, a shade I hadn’t tried before but had been admiring from afar for quite some time.

This colour is the perfect orange red, and even just after one day of wearing it, I know it’s love! It is a cross between one of my first red loves, Lady Danger and a more recent discovery Mangrove; two MAC shades that I absolutely adore in both colour and finish. In fact, you’d be forgiven for almost getting these confused.

As with all the matte revolution lipsticks, though the finish is matte, the consistency and formula are creamy, hydrating and super moisturising, and feel amazing on your lips as you wear them. But what I really love about them is the pigment.

As you can see from the photos, the pigment is bold and rich, and the colour pay off is amazing. Add that to great staying power and you’ve really got a winning lippy in my view.

I knew I’d like this, in fact I knew I’d love it, and I do. It’s just gorgeous from start to finish and I’ll definitely enjoy wearing it over and over again.

As much as I love my red lips, what I will say is, you don’t need several orange toned red lippies (unless you’re totally obsessed like me in which case shop away!). So if you have one you already love then maybe wait till it runs out to try this.

But, if you’ve been looking for a new red and like warm tones then I definitely, definitely recommend the splurge!
