You may recall that earlier this year, MAC released a limited edition collection called Fruity Juicy. Back in May I tried out my first shade from the collection Love At First Bite which I fell totally and utterly in love with!
Because I loved it so much, I bought one more shade from the range, this time in a matte formula, and in a pale nude-peach shade called Calm Heat.
I don’t really know what I was expecting from this lipstick, when I swatched it on my hand it definitely was darker than how it looked on my lips, so I was left feeling a little disappointed with the colour itself. It’s not that I didn’t like it, it’s just that it was very pale so didn’t give a pop of definition to my lips.
As with all MAC matte formulas, I loved the creaminess of this, and although pale, the pigment was nicely opaque which I do like in a lippy. The finish was smooth and soft, and lasted well as you would expect.
I don’t know if I wanted it to have a stringer peach tone or more of a caramel feel, but it just didn’t quite hit the spot for me and because of that, I probably wouldn’t recommend it – shock horror!
It takes a lot for me to not recommend a MAC lippy, but unless you’re a fan of a. Dry pale look, I’m not sure this will do much for your lips.
