At this stage in my challenge, I’m running out of brands to try, I really have covered so many over the past six months but want to try cover even more for the next six months.
So when I was in Topshop picking up some holiday bits last week, I decided to buy one of the lipsticks from their beauty range and opted for one of the matte lip bullet crayons in a nude pink shade.
Now, I don’t know about you, but when I see matte, I expect a matte finish but for some reason, this has a shimmer to the finish even though it says matte. While it’s not glossy or creamy, I don’t know that you can really call it matte so from the offset that kind of threw me with it.
The formula itself, I didn’t mind. It blends well and the pigment is fairly good for a light nude shade. I liked the slight coral element to the colour, and the shimmer did bring another dimension to it even though I wasn’t expecting in it.
The lasting power is fine, not amazing but not awful, and the formula didn’t dry out my lips which is always good. I also liked how easy it was to apply and the colour pay off which was very true to how the colour looks in the packaging.
Overall, I’m not sure I would rush to try this out again, but I have heard their lipsticks are lovely so I might have to give them a go and see if they impress me any more than this.
