When & Other Stories arrived to Dublin last year, I was very excited. For years I had admired the store from afar seen as the only place I could buy anything was when visiting London, so now that it’s on my own door step, I’ve become a regular visitor.
However, until a few weeks ago I had never tried anything from their beauty range so I thought it was about time I bought a lippy or two and give them a go.
The first product I tried was one of their lip balms which was nice enough. I was a little let down by the pigment, but the formula was nice and moisturising too. So because of that, I didn’t really know what to expect from the lipstick but thankfully, I liked it a little more.
The pigment is gorgeous; it obviously helps that this is a very bold, bright pink shade, but the colour pay off is very good and the pigment was exactly what I hoped it would be. It has a cream finish that isn’t totally opaque, but still gave my lips a pretty full coverage nonetheless and felt lovely to wear.
The consistency was smooth and soft, and it blended very well on the lips which meant I didn’t need to layer it too much. But, what I did notice was, as it wore off it became kind of patchy, with some parts of my lips holding the colour a lot better / longer than others.
I wouldn’t say I loved this; it was nice to wear but I would describe it more fine than amazing, so I don’t think I’ll be running out to buy loads more. I did however love the colour, and it was perfect for another sunny day in Spain.
