Simply Lippy Challenge Day 289 | Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick Lip Shine in Shade, Pink Punch

Some of you may recall that I tried my first Soap & Glory lippy out a few weeks back and absolutely loved it. The shade, Ember Red, was one of their matte lipsticks from the Sexy Mother Pucker range, and because I liked it so much, today I decided to try out one of the gloss sticks from the same collection.

The first thing that strikes me with this is how balm-like it is. It was the same with the last shade I tried, and I mean it in the best possible way. It has all the moisturising and hydrating qualities of a really great lip balm, yet has the pigment of a lovely lipstick. It was only when I applied this earlier that I remembered how much I liked these, and I wasn’t disappointed today either.

The finish of this version is glossy like the title suggests, and if I’m being honest, I probably prefer the cream finish of the matte version. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the gloss finish at all, in fact it’s one of the nicer glosses I’ve tried; I just tend to prefer cream and mattes in general.

The pigment is so good; today’s shade is a deep raspberry pink that has a gorgeous rich tone with excellent colour pay off. The creaminess of the formula makes it very easy to blend and apply, and because of that, the pigment just pops when you wear it.

Staying power isn’t the best I’ve tried, but there is a slight stain element to it that makes the underlying colour last a bit longer than the gloss, and my lips felt very smooth all day.

Once again, I think I would describe this as more of a tinted balm because of the formula and consistency; but a really, really good tinted balm. It’s one of those products that I’d keep in the bottom of my handbag for a day when I want to just throw something on and go!

What’s your favourite tinted balm? I’d love to know what ones you’ve tried?

Soap & Glory is one of those brands that has some great products; I think I need to start trying out more of them!
