Today’s lippy choice is a lip balm, mainly because out of nowhere I woke up with incredibly dry, sore lips this morning. Blistex intensive moisturiser is usually my go-to balm on days like this, but as that’s not tinted, I decided to try out their Rosy Glow Lip Brilliance balm instead for the purposes of the challenge.
And I’m just going to come out and say it… Flavoured and tinted balms just don’t do the trick for me at all when my lips are this dry. This balm is moisturising, but it doesn’t have them same intensive hydration that my lips were craving and because of that, I’m not sure how much I’ll use this.
The shade is a very slightly tinted rose pink with a kind of shimmer finish to it, and as tinted balms go, in terms of pigment it’s not the worst I’ve tried. It’s by no means bold or strong, but adds a very subtle colour to the lips.
The shimmery element also makes the balm feel kind of coarse. It’s not exfoliating, but you can definitely feel something in the texture when you first apply it. Once blended, that does disappear to leave a smoother finish, but still not as smooth as you would expect from a balm.
