Simply Lippy Challenge Day 333 | Dose of Colours Lip It Up Satin Lipstick in Shade, Toast

The last time I wore and reviewed a Dose of Colours lipstick, I fell completely in love with it. From the gold packaging, to the formula, to the brown burgundy shade, Lava Cake, I honestly loved everything about it. Because of that, I was very excited to try another lipstick from them today only, it has left me feeling a little disappointed.

The packaging is as gorgeous as ever, but the shade Toast, isn’t what I was expecting at all. From the packaging and the bullet, I was expecting it to be a soft beige with a pink rose undertone; the kind of shade that I have loved wearing recently.

However, the shade is actually more… I can’t even describe it. It is beige but with a kind of yellow brown tone? I really don’t know but you can judge for yourselves! It just didn’t translate on my lips how I wanted or expected it to and because of that, I’m not sure I like it that much.

The formula was smooth like the last time, and thank god for that because I can’t imagine loving something so much then being so let down by it in a different colour. The satin finish is creamy and glides on the lips easily, and my lips are particularly dry at the moment from the cold weather.

Because of the rich creamy texture, the staying power is pretty good and it keeps your lips feeling very soft while you wear it. However, I honestly didn’t really care too much about staying power given that I wasn’t that fond of the colour which is definitely not a good sign.

I’m honestly pretty disappointed by this because I was so excited by it first time around. I’m don’t see myself wearing the shade again so it’s a thumbs down overall.
