Simply Lippy Challenge Day 357 | Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Shade, Stoned Rose

Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are such a joy to wear and I’ve become a huge fan over the past number of years. I’ve tried several lipsticks from all her ranges, and though most of the ones I love are mattes, one of my all time favourites is a shade called Night Crimson from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Collection which I wore very early on in my challenge.

For today’s lipstick choice, because it’s been quite a while since I wore a lippy from this collection, I decided to try out a new shade called Stoned Rose, which due to the name, I assumed would have pink rose tone.

The shade however is more like a muted coral caramel shade, more caramel than anything else, and I would have liked it to be slightly warmer on. It definitely looks richer in the bullet than on my lips, but having said that, I quite liked the shade for something different.

The finish of this is satin, with a lovely creamy texture to it that is very moisturising to wear. It doesn’t have quite the same richness that her matte lipsticks have, yet it is very smooth and makes your lips feel soft all day.

You do get hydration from wearing it meaning your lips won’t feel dehydrated, even if they are feeling a little dry, and the smooth texture makes it very easy to both apply and blend.

To me, it’s definitely not a rose shade as the name would suggest, but it’s a great all-rounder option that would work well with all skin tones.

What do you think? Are you a Charlotte Tilbury fan?

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 215 | Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Shade Sexy Sienna

Over the last year or two I have become a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, particularly her matte revolution collection which has some gorgeous shades to choose from.

Very Victoria has been a long time favourite, and more recently, Pillow Talk and Tell Laura have been added to my favourites list also. There is just something about the creaminess of these lipsticks that feels so luxurious when you wear them, and the matte finish means that a little goes a very long way.

When I was at the Charlotte Tilbury counter a few weeks back picking up a birthday present for someone, I saw Sexy Sienna and liked the coral undertone so decided to splurge and treat myself. The thing about these lippies is, they are not cheap, so you really need to love the shade and the formula to justify the cost. Thankfully for me, I love both!

Because of the matte finish, I would describe this as more of a nude/beige coral – it doesn’t have the pop that say Tell Laura or MAC’s Mangrove have, but it still has a nice subtle tone that makes it very easy for most skin tones to wear.

In all honesty, if I had my way I think I’d buy nearly every lipstick in this range because I’ve yet to try one I don’t like. I often find I’m more critical of the pricier, high-end brands because when I’m spending €32, it really has to be worth the money.

For me, I do think these are worth the investment though if you’re looking to treat yourself, but make sure you love the colour you choose!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 182 | Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Matte Revolution Lipstick in Shade, Tell Laura

There is just something about a red lip; it transforms your makeup look and your outfit, it lifts your mood, it makes a statement. And for me, that is never truer than when I find a perfect warm toned red with a hint of orange, and fall totally in love.

And that’s exactly what happened when I tried out today’s shade, Tell Laura, from Charlotte Tilbury, a shade I hadn’t tried before but had been admiring from afar for quite some time.

This colour is the perfect orange red, and even just after one day of wearing it, I know it’s love! It is a cross between one of my first red loves, Lady Danger and a more recent discovery Mangrove; two MAC shades that I absolutely adore in both colour and finish. In fact, you’d be forgiven for almost getting these confused.

As with all the matte revolution lipsticks, though the finish is matte, the consistency and formula are creamy, hydrating and super moisturising, and feel amazing on your lips as you wear them. But what I really love about them is the pigment.

As you can see from the photos, the pigment is bold and rich, and the colour pay off is amazing. Add that to great staying power and you’ve really got a winning lippy in my view.

I knew I’d like this, in fact I knew I’d love it, and I do. It’s just gorgeous from start to finish and I’ll definitely enjoy wearing it over and over again.

As much as I love my red lips, what I will say is, you don’t need several orange toned red lippies (unless you’re totally obsessed like me in which case shop away!). So if you have one you already love then maybe wait till it runs out to try this.

But, if you’ve been looking for a new red and like warm tones then I definitely, definitely recommend the splurge!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 160 | Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Shade, Super Cindy

I’m sure many of you are as big fans of Charlotte Tilbury lipstick as I am, and that’s particularly true for me when it comes to the matte revolution range.

Day 160 is also the day of a very special event, a lovely friend’s wedding, so when I was deciding what lippy to wear, I knew it had to be special.

The shade I chose, Super Cindy, is named after the one and only Cindy Crawford, and is the perfect nude coral shade that has a hint of peach, and goes with just about every makeup look possible.

The matte revolution lipsticks somehow manage to be deliciously creamy even though they have a matte finish, and are super hydrating too.

Although this is a nude shade, you really don’t need to apply much at all to get a great colour payoff, and it is mositurusing and silky smooth when you wear it too. Basically, all the things you’d expect from the perfect lipstick.

In case you haven’t realised it yet, I absolutely love this lipstick both for formula and shade! Charlotte Tilbury can do no wrong when it comes to lippy in my opinion and this is just another example of that.

If you don’t own one of her lipsticks and have thought about buying one, I really recommend investing because I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Happy 100 Simply Lippy Days… To Me!

Well, if you caught my Day 100 lippy post which I posted a little while ago, you will know that the big day has arrived. Yes, today I reached the 100 day mark of my 365 day Simply Lippy challenge and I’m so excited!

I’m not going to lie, there were days over the past three months or so, where I really hit a wall with the challenge and didn’t think I could keep going. It’s tough doing a daily challenge – I wake up in the morning, take product shots and makeup photos, go to work for ten or so hours, then come home, write my blog post, edit my photos, then share my posts online and on social media. It really is a full time job, on top of a full time job!

In saying all that, I honestly have really loved it, and though I had a brief moment of wanting to quit, I’ve decided to keep going and see if I can make the 365 day mark. I’m running very low on lipsticks, and I’ve a long way to go still, but where there’s a will, there’s a way as the old saying goes…

Over the past few days, I’ve been looking back at all my posts to-date, and I can’t believe how many shades, brands, and formula’s I’ve tried. From high end to budget, from matte to gloss, from liquid to cream; I’ve tried them all! But a lipstick lover’s job is never really done, and there are a lot more for me to try still.

Of course I’ve had some favourites, and some least favourites, but instead of sharing them here, I’m going to do a round up video of my first 100 days seen as I haven’t got around to doing that before now.

In the meantime, here’s a look back at all the shades I’ve worn over the past 100 days…

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 91 | Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Shade, Hot Emily

Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks have become some of my absolute favourites over the last year or two, mostly because of their gorgeous formula and finish.

No matter what range I wear or colour I choose, the pigments are always gorgeous and they feel so smooth on your lips that you really never want to stop wearing them.

My newest shade from CT is this gorgeous red toned coral from the Hot Lips collection called Hot Emily, and I am in love with it!

It is very similar to one of my all time favourite MAC shades, Vegas Volt which I wore recently on Day , but is slightly more rich in tone that that.

When I first bought it, I wasn’t expecting it to be this similar as I did think it was slightly more red than orange, but needless to say, I love it anyway.

The lasting power is beilliant as well as the pigment, and the creaminess is second to none which for me, is one of the most important things in a lipstick. I also like how it wears throughout the day, and the moisturising feel it has while you wear it.

Is anyone else totally in love with Charlotte Tilbury products? She just does everything so well and I’m slowly becoming a big fan!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 49 | Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk

Eeeek, after several weeks of waiting, today I finally got to wear my new Pillow Talk lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury!

Those of you who are CT fans will know that Pillow Talk is a shade of lip liner from her collection that has become a cult favourite over the past few years, and is a very popular liner shade among beauty lovers in general.

This year, Charlotte Tilbury decided to release Pillow Talk as a limited edition Matte Revolution lipstick and needless to say, there has been a lot of excitement about it since.

One of my favourite nude lipsticks, Very Victoria, is from the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution range so naturally, when I heard this news, I was very excited to buy it and get trying it out.

First things first, if you read my post on Very Victoria, you’ll know I absolutely love the formula in these lipsticks and Pillow Talk is no different. It is so creamy and has a very smooth application leaving your lips soft and pigmented after just one application.

However, while the shade itself is similar to Very Victoria, it is ever so slightly darker and has an almost red undertone to it. It has such a lovely finish to it and is the most gorgeous, wearable colour for both day and night too.

I loved it from the moment I applied it this morning and am only disappointed I won’t get to wear it again for a while because it is just so nice. And, I’m pretty sure it would quickly become a go-to shade for me if I didn’t have lots of other lippies to try over the next few months!

Have any of you bought Pillow Talk or do you use the lip liner? If you have, and you love the liner, then I’m sure you’d love this too!

Don’t forget, I’m sharing all my challenge photos and progress over on my social media pages so come follow me over there. You’ll find me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Oh, and if you feel like joining me for a cuppa and a chat then I’m over on snapchat too. Just search for @imsimplysorcha.
