Simply Lippy Challenge Day 115 | Clinique Chubby Stick in Shade 13, Mighty Mimosa

Some of you may remember my last post on one of Clinique’s Chubby sticks in shade Strawberry from Day 55, where I told you all about my love for Chubby Sticks and how they have been a favourite lip product of mine for many years now.


In that post I was trying out one of their limited edition Crayola inspired Chubbies, but today, I’m trying out one of the original shades that I haven’t tried before.


Today’s shade, Mighty Mimosa, was a gift from my gorgeous sister-in-law, and is a lovely soft pink shade with a very slight peach tint to it, and I just love it.


For those of you who don’t know, Chubby Sticks are essentially a lip balm in crayon format, with a very creamy and moisturising formula that make your lips so soft and smooth.


When it comes to balms and lipsticks in general really, hydration is a big thing for me because I suffer with dry lips, and the hydration you get with these Chubbies is just amazing.


The finish is what I would describe as a soft sheer, and has a lovely subtle pigment that gives just enough colour to make the lips pop. Because of that, they are a perfect every day lippy, especially if you want to keep your lip colour soft and subtle.


If you’ve been following my challenge up to now, you’ll know that I very rarely say that you should go out and buy something, mainly because everyone’s tastes are different, and we all want different things from a lipstick.


However, if you’re in the market for something new and you like a creamy balm, then I really would recommend trying out one of these!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 55 | Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in Wild Strawberry

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you will know that I have a soft spot for Clinique’s Chubby Sticks and have done for many years now. The first shade I ever tried about six years ago was a lovely soft coral pink shade called Melon, and I’ve been hooked ever since.


Naturally then, when I saw Clinique were releasing limited edition Crayola inspired chubbies in January, I knew I needed to have them in my life – immediately!

Now, when I first heard about this collection, I was under the impression they had created new limited edition shades, but actually, they have just rebranded existing shades with Crayola inspired packaging. Hmmm.


Okay, I actually don’t really mind that too much because I’ve never been one to shy away from a little nostalgia. And let’s be honest, not many things invoke childhood nostalgia like Crayola do.


Anyway, enough of that, now back to the lippy itself…

Chubby Sticks are essentially moisturising lip balms in a lip crayon format, and are one of the best lip products I’ve ever used for keeping lips smooth and hydrated. The pigment is strong enough to give you a nice soft colour on the lips and the sheer finish is lovely too.


Throughout my challenge I’ve been very honest about what I like or don’t like, and I also know that what I like might not be what other people like. Beauty is such a personal thing and everyone has different preferences. But, I have yet to meet someone who has tried these and not liked them.
