Simply Lippy Challenge Day 134 | Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm in Shade 300, Viva Violet

You may remember a few months back, on Day 41, I wrote about Rimmel’s colour rush balm in a lovely nude shade called Drive Me Nude. I love these lip crayons which I discovered for the first time last year, and today, I’m trying out a new shade called Viva Violet.

The shade is a very bright purple violet colour, with a pink undertone which almost has a fuchsia feel to it, and is the perfect bright lippy to match the lovely sunny weather we’re currently having in Dublin.

Apart from the pigment being brilliant, one of the things I like most about this lip crayon is the fact that they are so moisturising and hydrating to wear. It definitely feels like a balm, and makes your lips feel so soft both during and after you wear it.

They have really good staying power with a cream, slightly gloss finish, and are a great on-the-go lippy. So, if you’re looking for a good all rounder product that can hydrate your lips while adding a pop of colour too, then these are definitely a good option.

I really liked wearing this the last time, and I still feel the same about the formula after wearing this new shade today.

Plus, at just €7.99, I think they are a great bargain buy!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 41 | Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm in Shade 710, Drive Me Nude

It’s Friday! Is there any better feeling than a Friday feeling?! I really don’t think there is, although, I’m smothering with a cold / flu type thing so feeling a little under the weather the last few days.

However, not even the flu can stop my Simply Lippy challenge, and today’s lipstick is an old favourite lip crayon from Rimmel.

You may have read my review post last year on this Colour Rush Balm; I absolutely love these lip crayons, and today’s shade, Drive Me Nude, is my favourite from the range.

The shade is what I would describe as a rich pink nude, as it leaves a subtle pink tint as it wears off throughout the day. It looks more beige than pink in the tube, but once you apply, takes on a slightly pinker tone.

The balm itself is very creamy and moisturising, and has pretty good lasting power as the title suggests. It keeps your lips hydrated while you wear, and also has a gorgeous vanilla scent to accompany the soft pigment.

This was the perfect choice for me today because I needed something easy and hassle free. My skin is so dry and dehydrated, my nose and eyes are streaming and I’ve a sore throat. So, on a day where I really didn’t have the energy to worry about my lipstick; this was great.

Unfortunately it didn’t last as well on my lips today as it normally does, but that’s totally down to my cold and not the formula.

As you can see from today’s photos, my tube is very well worn at this stage which will show how much I like this. But I wanted to show you what it looks like new so I took an old photo from last year’s review post and added it below.

Lip crayons really became popular when Clinique introduced Chubby Sticks a few years ago and I’m definitely a covert to them. How about you guys?

I’m off now to get into my pajamas and have a cosy Friday night in. Hope you all have a great weekend!
