Simply Lippy Challenge Day 298 | Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in Shade E922B, Coral Corruption

I first tried one of these liquid catsuit matte lipsticks from Wet n Wild over the Summer after reading lots of good reports about them on different social media channels. The first shade I tried Give Me Mocha, was a lovely caramel shade with gorgeous pigment so I had high hopes for today’s shade too.

In a nutshell, I really wasn’t disappointed by either the shade or pigment, and the soft coral tone was just lovely. It wasn’t as bright as most corals, but I quite liked the neutral feel of it, especially for an autumn day.

The colour payoff is brilliant and though it is a liquid formula, it’s not too wet meaning it has a nice creamy feel to it too. It blends well and doesn’t drag the colour like some liquid lipsticks, and once dry, has a lovely soft matte finish with excellent staying power.

I did find it got quite dry as the day went on, but not so dry that I disliked it which made all the difference. I needed to reapply it after eating, more to even out the colour than anything else as it did wear off a little after lunch. In saying that, it still held much better than I though it would so I didn’t mind.

Another thing I really like about this is the coverage it gives to the lips; when I first applied it I thought it might be a bit sheer but it actually dries in to give a fuller coverage than you’d expect.

I’ve really come to like these lipsticks and will definitely be wearing this shade again – I think it will be particularly nice in Spring too.

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 283 | Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in Shade E921B, Nudist Peach

I first tried out one of these liquid catsuit matte lipsticks from Wet n Wild a few months back, and although it wasn’t my favourite Wet n Wild lippy, I did quite like it. The shade and pigment were both nice and the lasting power wasn’t bad either.

Today’s shade is a paler shade, a kind of nude peach with a pastel note to it, and the first thing I noticed was that the pigment wasn’t as good in this as it was in the previous shade I tried, Give Me Mocha.

When I first applied it, it didn’t have an opaque finish and was quite wet in texture, meaning it dragged the colour rather than allowing it to blend easily. To try combat this, I let it dry in, then reapplied a few layers to build up the colour but it didn’t quite have the finish I was hoping for.

I don’t remember the consistency being quite so wet the first time I tried this, but even though it was wet, it did still have a nice feel to it. It left my lips feeling smooth, and didn’t dry them out during the day as I wore it.

As I quite liked it the first time around, I was a little disappointed with this one today. Had the formula been a little creamier, I think I would have been happier with it and I also think the paler colour may have had an impact on how good the pigment was. It’s a shame because I had high hopes for it this morning.

Have you tried out one of these lippies yet or do you have a favourite liquid lipstick? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
