Simply Lippy Challenge Day 95 | Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss in Shade 209

I only recently discovered Make Up For Ever as you will know if you caught my posts on Day 48 or Day 57 of my challenge. While I liked the duo gloss, I absolutely loved the lipstick and therefore didn’t know how I’d feel about this lippy.

The shade is a very bright pink, I would describe it as fuschia only it has more of a purple undertone to it, but either way, it’s bright.

Now you know me, I love a bright lip, but I think maybe this shade was a bit too bold for a day in the office! I’m not usually one to shy away from a bit of colour, but I did feel a little out of place rocking into work with this on yesterday and maybe could have chosen a better day to test it out.

The texture is hard to describe too: it’s rich and thick, and is almost like half melted wax or something – I just can’t find the words to describe it. It’s not sticky and it’s smooth but it’s heavy to wear and I just don’t know how I feel about the consistency. The word plexi just really makes me think of plastic for some reason.

For someone who loves to write, I’m really not finding my words here, I know! Sorry! Has anyone tried this? If so, please help me out because I’m lost on this one!

Texture / consistency aside, it is nice but i wouldn’t say that I love it, and I think the jury may be out on it for a while yet. But maybe on a bright summers day I’d like it just a little bit more.

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 57 | Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Creme in Shade C211 Rose Wood

Throughout my Simply Lippy challenge so far, I’ve discovered lots of new lipstick shades and formulas that I hadn’t tried before, and it’s safe to say, many of them have been really gorgeous and become new favourites.

However, very few of them have made the same impression on me as today’s lipstick has.

Rose Wood, from Make Up For Ever’s Artist Rouge Creme range, is possibly one of the nicest lipsticks I’ve worn in a long time in both colour and formula.

The shade is not one I would have usually chosen but after wearing it, I’m just totally obsessed. It is what I would describe as a purple mauve, with a slightly grey undertone and I honestly fell in love with it the minute I put it on.

As well as that, the formula is brilliantly opaque and so creamy – it has the most luxurious rich creamy finish that I really wasn’t expecting, and application is so soft and smooth too. It has a thick consistency whilst feeling light, and the colour really holds up as you wear.

I feel like I can’t even put into words how much I like this, and I’m so excited to have discovered such a gorgeous new lippy collection thanks to the lovely ladies over in Make Up For Ever who sent this to me to try out.

For me, it really holds its own against some of my favourite luxury brands, including my holy grail YSL Rouge Pur Couture, but is almost €10 cheaper which is a major bonus. But really, price doesn’t matter here, because I would happily pay the €24 price tag to purchase this in other shades. It is worth every single penny in my view.

I am loving everything about this, and I mean really loving it. So much so, I think it is my favourite new discovery of the challenge so far and I can’t wait to try some more shades in the range very soon.

Has anyone else tried this Make Up For Ever range? How am I only discovering it now, I feel like I’ve so much to catch up on with this collection!

If you have tried it, then make sure you comment below and let me know what shade I should try next!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 48 | Make Up Forever Aquarouge Waterproof Liquid Lip Colour in Shade 11

It’s Friday!

Today’s post is a quick one because I’m going out tonight with some friends and was a little later getting out of work than I’d hoped. Anyway, it’s now the weekend so yay to that!

Today’s lipstick was a new one for me; the lovely people from Make Up Forever sent me some lippies to try last week, and this one is the first that I’ve used. And let me tell you, I’m impressed.

As you can see it is a lipstick duo, very similar to the Provocalips offering from Rimmel. However, I have to say the formula in this lipstick is so creamy compared to Rimmel and for that reason, I way prefer this.

The pigment is incredible giving great colour pay off after just one layer, and although it’s a liquid texture, it feels really hydrating.

The shade itself is a gorgeous deep burgundy with a soft gloss finish, and reminds me of one of my favourite ever lipsticks, Dark Side, by MAC with just a slightly more red undertone. Even though it has a gloss finish, the clear side of the lippy provides extra shine and locks in the colour to make it last longer.

The lasting ability of this is so good, I mean really good! So much so, you do have to watch how you apply because it gives an immediate colour on application.  But if you’re looking for a long lasting formula, I don’t think you’d be disappointed by this.

Anyway, gotta run! Don’t forget to come follow my journey on social media too.
