As beauty brands go, I really haven’t tried all that much from Revlon over the years. When I think of the brand however, I immediately think of lipstick; I’m not sure why but I always just associate them with it.
This lipstick is on loan from my Mum for the purposes of my challenge, and one I have never tried before today. Immediately, I was drawn to the shade which is a deep fucshia, and straight off I knew I’d like that at least, if nothing else.
When I applied it however, not only did I love the shade, but I also loved the pigment and formula. The pigment is rich and bold, with great colour pay off and a full coverage finish. The texture is creamy and not too light, meaning it blends very easily without any dragging, and leaves a lovely smooth finish on the lips.
The finish itself is cream, maybe with a slight satin element to it. It’s not too glossy which means it stays in place pretty well throughout the day, and I loved the texture of it too.
I have to say, I really didn’t have high expectations for this lipstick, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much I liked wearing it. So much so, I might be robbing it from my Mum for good!
Have you tried any Revlon lipsticks? I’m beginning to feel like I’m missing out on some great lippy choices so if you have any recommendations, make sure you send some my way!
The lippy I chose for today is a balm from Revlon, a brand I really haven’t worn much of throughout my challenge. For some reason, it’s not a brand that really comes to mind for me when I think of what to try out next so when I spotted it last week I decided to buy it and give it a go.
The shade I chose is from the Michelle Keegan collection for Revlon and is a lovely pink peach tone that has a shimmer finish to give an extra dimension to the lips when you apply.
The shade is very pale so it’s a barely there kind of shade, but one that would be a great choice for a relaxed or natural makeup day. In saying that, I did have to layer it up quite a bit to get a nice amount of colour so do keep that in mind if you decide to try it out.
I wasn’t sure how moisturising it would be with the shimmer particles, but the mixture of Shea, Mango and Coconut butter in the ingredients means that your lips are kept incredibly soft and moisturised while you wear this, as well as staying hydrated.
As it has a gloss finish, the staying power isn’t great and you do have to reapply this regularly throughout the day. Because the shade wasn’t full coverage to start with, I did find that a little annoying, but my lips felt so smooth by the end of the day which kind of made up for it.
I’m not sure whether I’d reach for this too often again after wearing it today, however, it would be a good option for when I’m having a particularly dry lip day.
Have any of you guys tried Revlon lippies? I’d love to hear your thoughts so as always, let me know by commenting below!
Until today, I had never tried any lipstick from Revlon, but I spotted this in Boots a few weeks ago and couldn’t resist trying out the gorgeous coral colour.
Like most products, before trying it out I did some research about it online and discovered that one of the main ingredients in this lippy is hyaluronic acid which is incredibly hydrating, so naturally, that made me very excited to put this to the rest.
After just one application, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that not only is the lipstick hydrating, it is super creamy and feels gorgeous on the lips. It glides on like a dream, and although the finish is slightly sheer, the pigment is still very good.
This was one of those lipsticks that I just loved wearing throughout the day. It lasts well, the colour is lovely, it feels great on and most of all, it smells delicious too!
Without a doubt, I am definitely a Revlon convert after trying this out and can’t wait to buy a few more shades and add them to my challenge list!
