Simply Lippy Challenge Day 329 | Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick Lip Shine in Shade, Technicoral

I have become quite fond of these Soap & Glory lippies over the last few months since I tried my first one over the Summer. I’ve tried both matte and gloss finishes, and while I prefer the matte, this gloss version is still pretty good too.

The last gloss shade I tried, Pink Punch, was a rich raspberry shade with a medium coverage, but today’s shade is very different in both colour and formula.

Today’s shade is a very pale coral; it has enough pigment to give a tint of colour but it’s not bold by any means. It also has a kind of shimmer element to it that makes it feel more sheer, even though the colour looks much stronger in the bullet.

My lips are very dry at the moment but the good thing about this is the balm-like formula. It is moisturising and hydrating, and does make your lips feel very soft when you wear it.

To me, this is very much more of a lip balm rather than a lipstick because of how neutral the shade is. And there’s nothing wrong with that per se; just don’t be expecting a lipstick effect if you decide to try it.

Overall I don’t think it’s my favourite Soap & Glory lippy, but it did feel nice to wear and I do love the other shades I’ve tried from the range so far.

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 312 | Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump Lip Gloss in Shade, Cherry Up

Soap & Glory is a brand that I’ve really liked over the years, and of the lip products that I’ve tried from them over the past year, I’ve been a fan of pretty much every single one. Up to now however, I’ve only tried their lip crayons so to mix things up a bit, today I decided to try their Pillow Plump lip gloss.

Now, if you’ve been following my challenge since last January, you’ll know that I’m partial to a lippy product that gives your lips a tingle. I don’t know why, but something about a tingly formula makes me feel like it’s working some magic on my lips!

This one however, is by far the most tingly of all the products I’ve tried – so much so, at one point I was a bit concerned I was having a reaction. Throw pregnancy into the mix, and I was almost at the point of panicking until it calmed down! So really that was more me overreacting than anything else! But, if you’re not a fan of a tingle plumping product then I would advise steering well clear of this one.

The gloss is a very high shine gloss, but with a thick enough consistency to have an okay lasting power. As glosses go, it was probably one of the better ones I’ve tried in that regard, but you can’t really ever compare the lasting power of a gloss to that of a lipstick because there is a big difference.

The pigment was very good, better than I was expecting, and I loved that it gave quite a full coverage to my lips too. The pink was dark enough to have an impact, and it definitely made my lips feel fuller when I wore it.

I quite liked this overall, and can see myself reaching for it again in the future. It’s definitely an acquired taste though so it might be good to try the tester version of it out before purchasing!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 289 | Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick Lip Shine in Shade, Pink Punch

Some of you may recall that I tried my first Soap & Glory lippy out a few weeks back and absolutely loved it. The shade, Ember Red, was one of their matte lipsticks from the Sexy Mother Pucker range, and because I liked it so much, today I decided to try out one of the gloss sticks from the same collection.

The first thing that strikes me with this is how balm-like it is. It was the same with the last shade I tried, and I mean it in the best possible way. It has all the moisturising and hydrating qualities of a really great lip balm, yet has the pigment of a lovely lipstick. It was only when I applied this earlier that I remembered how much I liked these, and I wasn’t disappointed today either.

The finish of this version is glossy like the title suggests, and if I’m being honest, I probably prefer the cream finish of the matte version. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the gloss finish at all, in fact it’s one of the nicer glosses I’ve tried; I just tend to prefer cream and mattes in general.

The pigment is so good; today’s shade is a deep raspberry pink that has a gorgeous rich tone with excellent colour pay off. The creaminess of the formula makes it very easy to blend and apply, and because of that, the pigment just pops when you wear it.

Staying power isn’t the best I’ve tried, but there is a slight stain element to it that makes the underlying colour last a bit longer than the gloss, and my lips felt very smooth all day.

Once again, I think I would describe this as more of a tinted balm because of the formula and consistency; but a really, really good tinted balm. It’s one of those products that I’d keep in the bottom of my handbag for a day when I want to just throw something on and go!

What’s your favourite tinted balm? I’d love to know what ones you’ve tried?

Soap & Glory is one of those brands that has some great products; I think I need to start trying out more of them!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 227 | Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Matte-Lip Lip Colour in Shade Ember Red

After two days of pretty disappointing lipsticks, thankfully today’s one is an absolute winner! I have never tried any of the Soap & Glory lippies before today so I didn’t know what to expect, but I have to say, I really like it.

First off, the shade is exactly my kind of shade as my regular followers will know. I love a red lip, particularly one with a warm tone which this one has in spades.

The formula is creamy and very balm-like, in fact for me, this was very much a pigmented lip balm rather than a matte lip colour, mainly because of its creamy finish. So I’m not sure I’d agree with the ‘matte lip’ title.

It is hydrating and moisturising, applied like a dream, blended easily, and the pigment is lovely too with great colour pay off. Basically, all the goods!

I’m a big fan of Soap & Glory body scrubs, but I haven’t tried many of their other products. After today however, I think I’ll be trying some more of these lippies in different shades.

Overall I’m very impressed and really like the formula. So, if you’ve been on the look out for a nice balm with a pop of colour then this is well worth a try!
