Simply Lippy Challenge Day 349 | Urban Decay Vice Cream Lipstick in Shade, Ravenswood

For all us lipstick fanatics, I don’t think there’s any better feeling than when you rediscover just how much you love a lipstick. For me today, that’s Urban Decay’s vice cream lipstick. For years I have loved the formula of this and no matter how much I wear it, it never gets old.

Obviously with my challenge this year, there has been less time for wearing my favourite lippies, in fact, I’ve missed some of them a lot – especially for events or nights out when I’ve really wanted to wear them. But today, I tried out a new shade in one of my favourite formula’s and let me tell you, a new love affair has begun.

This year I discovered a love for rose shade lipsticks that I never had before, and this particular one, might just be my favourite after Make Up For Ever’s Rose Wood shade which I wore back at the beginning of the year.

Apart from the gorgeous rose shade, these lipsticks have incredible pigment. They are full coverage with amazing colour pay off, and the tone is lovely and rich too. The minute you apply this, you get a gorgeous pop of colour that you can’t help but love.

The formula is thick and creamy, but very easy to apply and blend, and it feels very luxurious on your lips as you wear it. It is hydrating and moisturising, and left my lips feeling smooth all day.

The other great thing about this formula is the staying power. As much as I adore cream finishes, the staying power isn’t always as good as I’d like, however with this, you don’t need to worry about having to reapply much at all. Today I caught up with my gorgeous cousin for lunch and it stayed put all afternoon through eating and lots of chatting!

So, if you haven’t guessed already, I love it! I really didn’t expect to be still discovering new lipsticks that I love so late into my challenge but it just goes to show how many great lipsticks there are out there! This one is without a doubt a new favourite and I’ve only got fifteen or so days to go until I can wear it again. Hooray!

If you’re looking for a last minute treat for Christmas then this one is a must buy for me!

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 201 | Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Shade, Tilt

Tilt; oh my god, where have you been all my life?!

On Friday I headed off to Madrid early in the morning for a weekend away and had a gorgeous red floral dress that I wanted to wear that day. Because of that, I knew I needed the perfect coral / red lip to accompany it and so, in the airport decided to treat myself to my day 201 lip there and then.

I love Urban Decay lipsticks, and I particularly love their comfort matte finishes, so the moment I saw this I knew I would love it and it had to be mine. And I wasn’t wrong!

This lippy is just divine in every sense of the word. It is creamy, highly pigmented, incredibly blendable and has the most gorgeous soft matte finish.

The colour pay off, as you’d expect from Urban Decay, is brilliant and the staying power is pretty damn good too.

As I’m sure you’ve gathered by now, there is nothing I don’t like about it other than the fact that I’ve only discovered it now!

Many of you will know that I very rarely say you should go out and purchase anything; lipsticks are a very personal choice. But, if you are looking for a bright Summer lip and love coral, then this one is definitely worth checking out.

It really is the perfect summer lippy and one that I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing for many years to come.

Simply Lippy Challenge Day 58 | Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Shade Criminal

How are we all this evening? I hope everyone survived Monday okay, I know I’m glad that it’s over now and we’re already one day closer to Friday!

Today’s lipstick is a new shade that I bought recently from Urban Decay’s Vice Lipstick range. If you caught my last Vice lipstick post from Day 28 of the challenge, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of these lippies, as I am with so many Urban Decay products.

Today’s shade, Criminal, is an opaque dark bubblegum pink with a comfort matte finish, and has managed to live up to all the high expectations I had based on how much I’ve loved other shades I’ve worn before from the collection.

This lippy, along with all the other Vice lippies I’ve tried, has great pigment and great colour pay off, application is smooth with no dragging or pulling, and the texture is so nice to wear too. I’ve said before how much I like their comfort matte finishes, and thankfully I still feel the same after trying this out today.

It’s pink which is not usually my go-to shade, in fact I tend to avoid pastels in all aspects of beauty and fashion, but the shade is very versatile and one that I think would suit most, if not all, skin tones.

It is warm and rich toned, and though I don’t think it’s a shade that I’ll wear all the time, I’m enjoying pushing my lipstick boundaries and experimenting with different shades. I’m always going to be drawn to strong, richer colours over pastels, but it was nice to give this a try.

Are any of you Vice lipstick fans? If so, what’s your favourite shade and finish? I want to know what to try next!

In the meantime, don’t forget, I’m sharing all my challenge photos and progress over on my social media pages so come follow me over there. You’ll find me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
